FREELANCE FILM VIDEO EDITOR & PHOTOGRAPHER

I'm a versatile film and video editor working on story- and character-driven documentaries, intimate narrative features and shorts, as well as TV series for broadcast and streaming.
"The Barber of Little Rock" (2023) a short film I edited with Andrew Saunderson explores America's racial wealth gap through the story of Arlo Washington, a visionary local barber turned banker. The film is on DOC-NYC Shortlist and a Nominee for the Critics Choice Documentary Awards. It was an Official Selection at the Woodstock Film Festival, Heartland, Indy Shorts (Winner, Jenni Berebitsky Legacy Award.)
I edited “No Farewells,” (“Sans Adieu”) a fully vérité-style documentary directed by French street photographer-turned-filmmaker Christopher Agou. The feature film premiered in the "ACID" section at the Cannes Film Festival in 2017
"Wine Crush" (“Vas-Y Coupe!") premiered at DOC NYC in 2019. This feature documentary I edited is set in the champagne region of France and explores, during one harvest season, the connection between a winemaker and his seasonal and colorful laborers. Trailer: https://vimeo.com/414034306
"Unladylike2020," is a series of dynamic short films I edited about early American women trailblazers. I also edited the PBS American Masters special "Unladylike2020: The Change Makers." The series was an NAACP Nominee in the category of Outstanding Reality/Non-fiction Short-form.
“Pushout: The Criminalization of Black Girls in Schools,” is a TV documentary which premiered in 2019 at the Congressional Black Caucus in D.C. It aired on PBS. Website: https://pushoutfilm.com/
Other editing TV projects include:
"Harry and Meghan," the recent Netflix hit documentary series.
"The principles of pleasure," a series on sexuality and wellness for Netflix.
"Meltdown in Dixie," a documentary short and a duPont-Columbia Awards finalist in 2022.
“Reconstruction, America after the Civil War," a PBS documentary series which too was a duPont-Columbia Awards winner in 2019.
“This is Life with Lisa Ling” for CNN, the long-standing investigative journalism series.
I'm committed to editing films that tell relevant stories, embrace people’s daunting life journeys, and foster conversations about our humanity, social justice and issues of human rights; in sum, I'm dedicated to projects that will help further the understanding of our complicated world.
